A week before we met I was still grieving the loss of my previous life. I just (literally) lost my house, was in process of moving and my divorce was finalized. You never knew the extent of my circumstances yet, you never inquired further as life at the time was about your misfortunes. My chaos was my predicaments and I struggled in silence. I should of listened to my gut and the two week ghosting was my first warning. I should of never joined you and your roommate at the club. The intentional ignorance and mocking was my second warning. I should of never replied to your text, yet I did. Though all the warnings, I couldn’t help myself. Your presence built me up, yet tore me down. And after all this time, it dwindles. Memories no longer linger for I can barely recall your face. It is as if we never met although I know we once were because my heart still hurts.
