You were, I am

I thought my heart would never repair itself. I honestly believed it would stop beating all together.

You were my compass. Suddenly, I lost my direction. I wandered aimlessly. I lost your scent and scattered about seeking the stale breadcrumbs you used to feed me.  No more tears shed and I suppose they would taste salty as they fell upon my lips.

It came- just as the day you came and went, a feeling of relief. The chain that shackled me to you unlinked.

You no longer occupy my thoughts. You no longer visit my dreams. Your opinion of me x 3 doesn’t hold value. Your approval isn’t valid. The expectations I could never meet; not white enough, not tall enough, not smart enough…I know many awarded Ph.D.s stupider than a box of rocks.
I am more than you will ever know.

Walking a fine line between genius and insanity. My words are raw, sometimes visceral, and vulgar.  I write to settle my thoughts.  I have triggers that extract emotional immaturity, deep- rooted fears, anger, insecurity, vulnerability, yet I heal with every stroke of the pen.  I might be that monster.  I sometimes scare myself.  Please keep this in mind as you read.  I do not wish to provoke you, though stories need to be told. *not all posts are in real time
