Mother, May I?

“Just wanted to say Hi …and Hi, Erika”.

You just stared, un-reacting. After an awkward moment of silence, I returned to my corner of the room. I guess it’s odd that I knew your lover’s name, but not really when her FB is public for all to see. So there I sat. I glanced over and your face transitioned from a blush of astonishment to a deeper red of anger. You were pissed and unsettled. I had invaded your own private Idaho. Your lover immediately hooked her arm around your chair. She was claiming her prize all the while the look of disgust permanently embedded on your face. You jolted up and made way to the bar. I watched as you draped across the wood. Your head snapped back and I felt the hate in your eyes.  I’m surprised you didn’t stab me with the cocktail straw.  I’m certain it crossed your thoughts.

Walking a fine line between genius and insanity. My words are raw, sometimes visceral, and vulgar.  I write to settle my thoughts.  I have triggers that extract emotional immaturity, deep- rooted fears, anger, insecurity, vulnerability, yet I heal with every stroke of the pen.  I might be that monster.  I sometimes scare myself.  Please keep this in mind as you read.  I do not wish to provoke you, though stories need to be told. *not all posts are in real time
